Chicken Coops

One of the objectives of Love Made Real Ministries is to provide opportunities for individuals and families to become self-reliant. One of the ways we do this is by working with widows to build chicken coops. The widows are provided with a chicken coop; 25 baby chicks; enough feed for one cycle (7 weeks) and antibiotics. When the meat chickens reach approx. 4 to 5 lbs. in size, usually 7 weeks, they are sold and the cycle is repeated. The net income is then used to provide for their families. It cost $185 USD for this project and it takes a Guatemalan worker and three volunteers one day to complete.
